  3. Insulin Bank
    The Insulin Bank (IB), the bank for less fortunate Type 1 persons with diabetes (T1DM) was inaugurated on World Diabetes Day in November 1998. At present the IB provides a total care package free of charge to 587 less fortunate Type I Children and Young Adults referred to the NDC from all over the country.

    The DASL in conjunction with King’s College, London are currently involved in a 3 year research study- 'Evaluation of Risk Factors in the development of Type 2 Diabetes and Cardiovascular disease in a Young Urban Population in Sri Lanka'.
